Do it Afraid

If you have lost something that can’t be replaced, then you have already done the hardest thing in life. If you have been shaken to your core, then it’s all uphill from there. I don’t fear things the way I used to, and I certainly don’t care what people think nearly as much. I know my strength and I also just have bigger things to worry about. It’s funny how things that used to be a big deal, are no longer. I just do them. Scared, sure. Afraid? Not really. I have gone through much worse. I have had to birth a baby silently into the world and from that day forward, I have had to live without Harper, every day, all day. Now THAT is hard. THAT is scary. THAT is worth spending my energy working through.

After I lost Harper, I also lost my job and instead of looking for traditional work in the corporate setting, I set out to start not one, but two new businesses. One doing what I know, marketing, and the other doing what I loved, showing others there’s other ways to earn a living, thanks to Rodan + Fields.

I figured, what do I have to lose? I had NOTHING to lose but I had everything to gain. I created a whole new work-life for myself just because I wasn’t afraid of what people would think, or how much money I would make. Because honestly, neither of those things mattered anymore. Strive for balance. Strive for happiness and the rest will follow. What would you do if you weren’t afraid?
