Bereavement Boxes
Bereavement boxes are donated to the hospital by our organization and when a family has lost a baby, a hospital gives that box to the family. Inside the box are items that the parents will cherish for the rest of their lives.
Providing Comfort
Many times, the sudden loss means that the family has come to the hospital completely unprepared with outfits, blankets, or anything that they had planned for their newborn baby. And because time is limited with the baby, we provide some of these items that the family wish they had so they can make the most of the time with the baby.
What is Included
Inside each box are two hand-sewn bereavement gowns. One for the parent to keep and one for the baby to be buried or cremated in. We include a blanket to keep the baby warm, a necklace for the baby or mother, a journal, a letter from our team to let them know they are not alone, and some information about how we can support them emotionally through our community as they go through their grief journey.
We also include other various items that are donated to us that we feel would help them through their lives. ​
